DELF junior

Minimum age: from 12 years old. DELF junior is conceived for children aged between 12 and 16 years old who are learning French in middle or high school.

Class objectives

  • We work on further improving the 4 basic linguistic competencies: listening, reading, writing and speaking. The difference here is that the materials presented are geared to an older audience

  • Working in small groups, we prepare the children for the B1 and B2 exams

  • At this level, the student should, with a good degree of independence, be able to debate and defend an opinion, develop a point of view or negotiate. Social interaction should be comfortable and any errors should be self corrected while pursuing a discussion or giving an opinion. The student should be able to manage in an unplanned situation

Methods and manuals

We make use of the most recent methods recommended by the centre international d'études pédagogiques (CIEP) as well as a variety of other materials that are at our disposal from our library. Homework is often research based from the internet with a focus on current events leading to preparations for in class presentations.

Results

In June 2011, for the first time, 3 of PVF's students took the DELF junior B1 exam, all 3 passed.
